Announcing this festival amidst unprecedented social unrest and a continuing global pandemic can seem trivial. It is not our intention to distract from the demands of protesters in Portland, Kenosha and New York or divert attention from public health advocates across the country. Over the next few weeks, we hope to offer viewers context, insight, creative commentary on our current social moment and, in some cases, momentary escapism through films with a unique connection to New England.

Thanks to sponsors of the festival, including: Adam Camera; Animus Studios; Art Payroll; CP Casting; Filmmakers Collaborative; and Rule Boston Camera. And special thanks also to Women in Film/Video New England.

As always, a special thanks to our festival partners who all provided incredible recommendations of films for us to screen at this year’s festival, in addition to films chosen through direct submissions on FilmFreeway. This year’s partners include:

Be sure to share your favorites with your friends or on social media since the film with the highest engagement in each category will be granted an Audience Award. The more you share and support your favorite films, the better the chance they’ll have to win the Audience Award!
