The Something is an animated re-imagining of a children’s classic by Natalie Babbitt, beloved author of Tuck Everlasting. Fully drawn, scored, edited and voiced by her son, Tom Babbitt—an animator, artist, filmmaker and musician living in New England. In the story, a monster boy lays awake at night, frightened that “something” will come through his window. He turns his weird little world upside down in his dogged search to understand and confront his fear – which he finds, in a way, through the “looking glass…”

Director(s) Bio:: Babbitt, perhaps a true “renaissance man,” and something of a "one-man show," was born into an ambitious and talented family (Mom is Natalie Babbitt of “Tuck Everlasting” fame; Father, distinguished academician, author, professional stage actor). Tom is an accomplished musician / singer / songwriter / composer, having studied music theory and composition, and having played music and performed for over 40 years; He's directed (edited, acted in) four music videos to date, most recently using his song, "Tell Me" (official selection: 2015 Access Code Film Festival among others); He's won “Honorable Mention” for two separate songs in the 14th Annual Billboard World Songwriting Contest. A former Senior Art Director, he worked in advertising and design for over 2 decades; He is a feverish animator and illustrator and has designed chairs and clocks and film sets; Now, he works as a Psychotherapist in private practice (it’s true!) in New England, as he makes films with his partner, Francine Zaslow (veteran Boston Photographer), and draws his endless frame-after-frame animations.
