Providence hosts a Motif Film Screening Series beginning this month. Local filmmakers are encouraged to submit to this series, which will take place on the second Tuesday of each month at DUSK in Providence through October. Learn more here.

Industry Buzz

The new television series Kevin Can F*** Himself has released a new trailer. Shot in Massachusetts, the show stars Annie Murphy and will debut on AMC in June. Watch the trailer here.

Harvard’s Hasty Pudding Theatricals have named Viola Davis as their Woman of the Year. Davis was honored in an online ceremony last month. Read more here.

Opportunities

Submit now to the Women in Film & Video New England Screenwriting Contest. Scripts should be 3-10 pages, follow this year’s theme of “Survival,” and have a female protagonist. Late deadline is May 20. For official rules and more details, click here.
