Chris Caccioppoli is an award-winning writer and filmmaker known for his absurd humor and his obscure but relevant subject matters. His passion for writing predates his memory but his love for production started in High School where he ran the community television station and earned local awards and scholarships for his producing, writing, and directing. As a student at Ithaca College, in which he was inducted into the Television and Radio Hall of Fame, he wrote and directed 30 Minutes, a late night comedy show which won national awards from the Collegiate Broadcast Institute and the Broadcast Education Association. These credentials earned him a creative position at National Lampoon where he got the opportunity to work with Editor-in-Chief and infamous comedy writer, Scott Rubin. Chris contributed to the brand via their online publication and syndicated television network. In 2008 Chris was published in National Lampoon’s Not Fit for Print and went on to become the editor of SuperAwesomeWow, a National Lampoon affiliate specializing in humorous essays and short stories. Simultaneously, Chris co-founded Aligned Creative, a production company specializing in video content for non-profit organizations. Serving as President, he helped produce short documentaries and promotional material for Birthright Israel, CancerCare, Not for Tourists and many others. In 2011, Chris formed Chimera Entertainment, a production company which has produced international commercials for various divisions of Sony, such as Sony Entertainment Network, Sony Xperia, Sony Style Store, and Sony Corporation of America. Chris has also written and directed TV spots for other brands like Sokolve Law and Cobroxin. In 2013 Chris returned to filmmaking with his first feature, The Cocks of the Walk, a comedy about the sport of Badminton, which he wrote, directed, and starred in. Over the next few years Chris wrote and directed the award-winning short films Reindeer Games, Soulmating, and East of Hollywood, the last of which earned him 2 awards for Best Screenplay and 3 for Best Editing, and the film itself has taken home 18 awards including Best Picture, Best Comedy, Best Short Narrative, and multiple Audience Choice Awards. He has also served on the Board of Directors for the non-profit organization, The FilmShop, which holds workshops and promotes collaboration within the New York filmmaking community. He is currently serving as the Creative Director and board member for the non-profit, The Paideia Institute for Humanistic Study and is on the Board of Directors for Second Scholar, an organization that creates educational opportunities for non-traditional students.
