In October 2007, with great support and a warm welcome from the Town of Pepperell, MA, its offices, businesses, and townspeople, no-budget independent filmmakers John Hartman of Reel Groovy Films, and Zee Zarbock of Unfolding Story Pictures, originally from Colorado, were allowed to film re-enactments of the last Crusade on the Keyes Conservation Lands.

The super 16mm feature film, Bridge Crusader, was filmed throughout New England in the fall of 2006, but without Pepperell’s great support in 2007, the film would not have been completed. In appreciation of this, the filmmakers are presenting a free show in Pepperell, sponsored by the Lawrence Library, and are inviting everyone to come out. The event is free, but donations will be accepted with 50% of the proceeds going to the Friends of the Library.

About Bridge Crusader: Year after year, an eclectic artist sojourns to the covered bridges of New England on his chopper to rendezvous with a mysterious woman. A shocking discovery catapults him on a desperate crusade to uncover his past in hope of freeing himself and the woman he loves.

Filmed throughout New England amongst fall foliage and covered bridges, Bridge Crusader features all regional talent. Bridge Crusader was written, directed, photographed, and edited by John Hartman. C.G. “Zee” Zarbock is the film’s producer, co-director, and co-writer. Both Hartman and Zarbock have become Massachusetts residents as a result of the warm welcome from Pepperellites and the Commonwealth. Eric R. Eastman of Nashua, NH, is lead actor and co-producer.
