Every month, NewEnglandFilm.com highlights new local film projects looking for funding via crowd-sourcing. This month, we showcase Island Time on Indiegogo. To feature your film in this series, e-mail editor@newenglandfilm.com.

Make time for Island Time, a feature comedy by filmmaker Todd Norwood, from Bedford, New Hampshire, which is seeking support through Indiegogo. Norwood is a director, writer, and producer based in New Hampshire. His credits include Tricks of a Woman (starring Vincent Pastore, Natasha Lyonne, and Scott Elrod), The Wayfarers, and Blackwater Farm.

Island Time, inspired by the music of Jimmy Buffett, follows the film’s hero as he leaves behind a cubicle job in the snow to run a bar in the islands. He soon realizes he only has a month to create the bar of his dreams – or he will lose it to a nearby hotel chain. As Norwood explains on his Indiegogo page, Island Time revels in “the island lifestyle” and offers a “sense of pure escape that takes you to the land of steel drums & sandy beaches.” While not affiliated with Jimmy Buffett, Island Time is “a celebration of all things Parrotheads love, written and directed by a Parrothead himself.” The film is scheduled to shoot in summer 2014, with plans for a release in early 2015.

The project goal is to raise $10,000 by December 27, 2013. Funds will go towards production costs and there are a variety of rewards offered at each donation level. Read more about Island Time, Norwood, and donations at the Indiegogo page. A portion of all screening funds will be donated to Save the Manatee Charity.
