Get your fill of festivals this month at the Martha's Vineyard Film Festival, the Camden International Film Festival, and the Boston Film Festival. Happenings

Want to go to a festival without leaving the comfort of your house? Check out the 4th Annual Online NewEnglandFilm.com Festival right here on the website, where we’re screening 28 local films from 9 local festivals from September 1 through October 15.

The Martha’s Vineyard Film Festival runs September 6–9. Screenings include The Well Digger’s Daughter, Robot and Frank, and Searching for Sugar Man. For tickets and a full festival schedule, visit mvfilmfest.com.

NewportFILM presents a screening of Chasing Ice on September 7th on Rhode Island’s Rose Island. The environmental documentary will screen outdoors at sunset. Ferry transportation will be provided to and from the island. Tickets are $5. For more information, click here.

Check out the Camden International Film Festival September 27–30 in Camden and Rockland, Maine. The festival will open with a screening of Betting the Farm; closing night is Chasing Ice. Go to camdenfilmfest.org/ for more information and the complete schedule of screenings.

The Music Hall brings a little bit of Colorado to Portsmouth, New Hampshire from September 14th to 16th with “Telluride by the Sea.” The theater will host selections from this year’s Telluride Film Festival; tickets and film selections will be available beginning Labor Day weekend. The 28th annual Boston Film Festival runs September 20–24. Films screen at the Stuart Street Playhouse Theater. Check bostonfilmfestival.org/ for updates.

Get a case of Vertigo at Cambridge’s Brattle Theatre at the end of this month. The theatre will screen Hitchcock’s classic film September 28th, 29th, and 30th. Learn more here.

Providence, Rhode Island hosts Movies on the Block Thursdays through October 4th. Films screen at the corner of Westminster Street and Union Street starting at dusk; movies are free. Watch One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest on September 6th, The Dark Knight on September 13th, Hero on September 20th, Thief on September 27th, and The Royal Tenenbaums on October 4th. Opportunities

The Massachusetts Production Coalition hosts a series of seminars this fall, beginning with “Post Production & Visual Effects” on September 15th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The seminar will take place at High Output Studios in Canton. For RSVP information and a list of panel speakers, click here.
