NewEnglandFilm.com Editor Erin Trahan Steps Down to Act as Interim Director of Independent Media Publications

As of October 15th, Erin Trahan will be stepping down as the editor of NewEnglandFilm.com’s monthly magazine in order to serve as the interim executive director of Independent Media Productions (IMP), the nonprofit organization that oversees publication of www.independent-magazine.org.
Like NewEnglandFilm.com, The Independent (formerly The Independent Film & Video Monthly print magazine) is an online magazine as well as a networking hub for indie filmmakers, but with a broader geographic scope. As many of you know, Michele Meek, founder and publisher of NewEnglandFilm.com, spearheaded the transfer of The Independent to IMP after the closure of Association of Independent Video & Filmmakers (AIVF) in 2007.
In this role, Erin will continue to oversee the editorial content of the publication and will be re-examining how the organization can best serve the national independent filmmaking community. Gordon, a frequent contributor to NewEnglandFilm.com (as well as a filmmaker, screenwriter, and film/video instructor at three local colleges), will take on the editorship at NewEnglandFilm.com, where he will assign, edit, and post the monthly issue.
