Lowell Telecommunications Corporation will premiere its first 100 Second Film Festival on July 15th at Evos Arts, 98 Middle Street in Lowell.  The festival is a vibrant smorgasbord of styles and subject matter featuring LTC members, local artists, and international media makers. 

Garret C. Maynard was nominated recently for an Emmy for his Cinematography on "Mystic Voices: The Story of the Pequot War." Garret C. Maynard, a resident of Stratford, CT, was principle cinematographer for the 16mm documentary which was produced by Charlie Clemmons and Guy Perotta of Wilton Woods Productions. The event was hosted by TV’s Tom Berergon and was held at the new Boston Convention center and recorded, live on tape, for broadcast on the Comcast Cable Network. "Mystic Voices" was shot in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island and was also nominated for Best Music but won Emmys for Best Documentary and Best Writing.

The New Hampshire Film Industry Forum launched to provide an interactive online resource for novice and professional filmmakers, actresses, actors, writers, producers, investors, film festival organizers and film buffs. They meet once a month in Manchester for people to connect, network and share projects that they are working on in New Hampshire.  The group page is at  http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/NHFilm 

Digital Video Expo East complete with an expo, conference and other special events takes place at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in NY on July 19-21.  For more information, visit www.dvexpo.com.

East Hartford-based Outta Left Field Productions began shooting the film "Indiscretion,” an existential story of redemption, hope, wrongs, rights and raw human emotion, in the Hartford, CT region in mid-June.  The film is produced by Anthony Colon and written and directed by Ivan Valez. Vermont filmmaker David Giancola premieres his natural disaster film, “Landslide” which was shot entirely on location in Rutland. Follow as recently separated Mark Decker (Vincent Spano), and wife, Emma (Alexandra Paul) work together to help save their son, Steven (Luke Eberl) and others when a landslide levels the condominium complex where the family lives. The screening takes place July 8 at 7 pm at the Westway Theatre, West Rutland and July 13 at 1:30 pm and 7 pm at Rutland Movieplex.  David Giancola and other cast and crew will be on hand to comment on the film and answer any questions.

Independent documentary filmmakers Deborah Koons Garcia and James Spione will both be at Images Cinema to present and discuss their films in the coming weeks. Both events are open to the public and admission is pay-what-you-can. Images Cinema is located at 50 Spring Street in Williamstown, MA.  Garcia’s "The Future of Food," co-presented by the Genetic Engineering Action Group, will screen at Images on Wednesday, July 27 at 7pm.  James Spione will have the New England premiere of his film, "American Farm," at Images on Monday, August 1 at 7pm.
