Third Annual Mount Ida College Film Festival

The Third Annual Mount Ida College Film Festival will showcase a collection of the top award-winning documentaries, shorts, and animations that have been shown at the Garden State Film Festival (GSFF). The film lineup also includes a variety of creative shorts produced by Mount Ida College students.

Don't miss our kickoff event on Thursday, March 4 at 7pm. The festival will screen the film Notorious, which will be followed by a lecture and q/a discussion with the film writer Cheo Coker.

Filmshift Film Festival and Screenplay Contest

The Filmshift Film Festival and screenplay competition is now accepting entries from both professional and Student filmmakers to screen in Somerville, Brookline, and Sudbury. The festival runs from October 3-9th, 2010. To submit your work and for more information, check out: http://www.filmshift.org

Twenty percent of the festival’s gross ticket sales will be donated evenly to 2 non-profit groups: Christopher’s Haven (a local foundation that supports kids with cancer and their families,) and Metrowest Family Theater (an inclusive community theater group).

NORTHAMPTON INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL

The Northampton Independent Film Festival (NIFF) will host an arousing night of independent film, presenting “Sex and Cinema” on Saturday, November 7, 2009 from 5pm-11pm at the Academy of Music in Northampton, MA.  The 15th annual independent film celebration will showcase three important independent films and a selection of short bonus films prior to each screening.  Filmmakers will be in attendance and available for Q&A and discussion. This is the first in a series of screenings that NIFF plans to present throughout the year.

The North End Music and Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) will host its first annual Short Film Festival on Thursday, October 22nd at 7:00pm at the Hard Rock Café Boston located on 22-24 Clinton St. This unique event seeks to attract Boston residents, local artists, filmmakers and students.

The NEMPAC Short Film Festival’s Selection Committee reviewed over 50 films and chose the following films as the official film selections for the NEMPAC Short Film Festival:

Vinfen's 2nd Annual Moving Images Film Festival

Vinfen’s Moving Images Film Festival is the only festival of its kind in the Boston area. The goal of this unique event is to combat the stigma too often associated with mental illness and developmental disabilities that affect more than 160,000 individuals in the Commonwealth.
