White River Indie Film Festival is back with its cutting-edge movies, panels, workshops, and parties. WRIF runs the weekend of April 26-28 at venues around White River Junction, VT.
This year, WRIF might be the only show you’ll go to at which someone comes out and says, “Good evening, please turn on your cell phones.”

Falls Area Community Television (FACT TV) invites budding and seasoned filmmakers to participate in the second annual No Film Film Festival. The challenge will be to recreate a classic 1980s American film in less than 15 minutes. The deadline for registration is 11:59 a.m., May 29, 2013, and may be done online at http://www.nofilmfestival.org. Contestants will have from May 31 to June 7 to complete and submit their short films. These will then be premiered starting at 5 p.m. June 29, 2013, at the Bellows Falls Opera House, where audiences will vote on the winner.

What happens when you give teams of local filmmakers exactly 48 hours to make a movie? Just about anything! Over the last ten years, 700 films have been made as part of the Boston 48 Hour Film Project, a wild and sleepless weekend in which teams of filmmakers from all over New England write, shoot, edit and score short films from scratch in 48 hours. On April 9 at the Brattle Theatre, we're showing our favorites--at 7pm, we're showing the twelve best family-friendly films made in the last ten years. At 9:15pm, we're showing the best R-rated films.

Women, Action, & the Media presents the 3rd Annual WAM!Boston Film Festival, featuring a thought provoking and entertaining line-up of films by women, and about women from up and coming filmmakers from New England and around the globe. The 13th Annual Irish Film Festival, Boston will kick off Thursday, March 22 at the Brattle Theater in Cambridge followed by three days at Somerville Theatre.
The festival will be a curated showcase of the Best of Irish contemporary cinema including Director's Choice Winner "Stella Days" and John Ford's classic film "The Quiet Man." This year, more than 3,000 people are expected to attend over the course of the four days.

The Bluestocking Film Series - Films by Women - premiered last October to a sold-out crowd at the St. Lawrence Arts Center. The screening series' mission is to bring women’s films to audiences in Portland, Maine. The next screening will happen on Sunday, May 20, 2012, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the St. Lawrence.

Lesbian Film Festival, presented by Out! For Reel LGBT Film Series, will offer a variety of award-winning films in two separate shows. The first show, 5:15 pm, will present "Kiss Me", the new lesbian hit film from Sweden. The second show, 7:20 pm, will screen "Best Lesbian Shorts: Love & Friendship" and the new short documentary, "T'Aint Nobody's Bizness: Queer Blues Divas of the 1920s."
