New Hampshire Film Festival (NHFF)
NHFF provides transportation and lodging to its showcase screenings, opening night feature, and works-in-progress screenings with celebrity cast members. Films selected by NHFF enjoys being part of a world-class film program, and filmmakers partake in educational workshops, roundtable discussions, gala after-parties, and an industry tradeshow presented by the NH Film and Television Office.
Credits & Awards
Films screened at NHFF have gone on to receive critical acclaim and national distribution. Last year’s Grand Jury Award Winner, THE TRIALS OF DARRYL HUNT, received a short list Academy Award Nomination, and NHFF short, BINTA AND THE GREAT IDEA was nominated for Best Short Film. Within the festival, there is a $500 cash prize for Best Screenplay; an Avid Xpress Pro editing workstation goes to the best student film; and the ‘Granny’ – an engraved granite award that pays homage to NH’s Granite State pride – is handed out to winners in all categories.
Since its debut in 2001 as the New Hampshire Film Expo, the New Hampshire Film Festival (NHFF) has grown in leaps and bounds. These days, heavy hitters such as Avid and Regal Cinemas lend their sponsorship, while industry experts participate on panels and in workshops. Last year’s event featured representatives from Emerging Pictures, Film Threat, the Philadelphia Film Festival and TLA Releasing, among others.
