Interlock Media, Inc. located near Google in Kendall Square, MA, is an activist film company that points to solutions for environmental, human rights and public health challenges. We support informed policy by producing entertaining documentary and dramatic media works.

We are seeking an Emerging Assistant Editor, well along in their career, who will work closely with the director and the Senior Editor to assist in all aspects of post-production. Applicants must have formal training/experience on Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer or Final Cut Pro 7 or X or similar NLE. Knowledge of After Effects or Apple Motion is a plus - as is experience with programs such as ProTools, Audition, iZotope etc. for sound, Illustrator, Photoshop etc. for graphics, Boris, GenArts, Red Giant etc.

Candidates should also be comfortable with the technical aspects of post-production equipment as some troubleshooting will be required. Intensive critique on artistic and technical approaches to documentary cutting will be given. We currently have a world-class documentary and one low-budget feature in production, as well as a series of multichannel shorts.

We applaud excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude are ideal. Applicant should possess the ability to work independently, remain flexible and take initiative in a resource-limited environment.

For our part, we are dedicated to your hands on training and participation from day one.

Hours: Min. 20 hours/week. Additional hours are welcomed. Position is typically 4 months.
